ETNA
SEQUENZA E FUGA
a 4,6,8 voci
ETNA is a polyphonic composition in 3 sections: I and II in hendecasyllables, III in polymetric verses; 4 voices for section I, 6 voices for section II, 8 voices for section III.
For ‘voices’ it is intended, rather than soloists, groups of voices ad libitum, liberally formed by male voices alternated by female voices, or groups of mixed voices, with the most diverse expressive intentions, all allowed.
The tone of the performance is decided by the Director: it can vary from pianissimo to fortissimo, from frusciato to urlato: the only mandatory indication is the precision in the accordance of words as presented in the score.
A performance marking consonants is suggested in order to strengthen the subject.
