In this new publication, Italian photographer Renato D’Agostin records with light on paper the texture of the mooring posts (bricole) that design the landscape of the Venetian lagoon. Instead of the photographic negative, the texture of the different sections of the post becomes the matrix for D’Agostin’s new works, recording how nature interferes with the wood out in the air, under water, and into the ground, creating a shroud of time of Venice through its fundamental elements.
